Hello everyone. My name is Brando. I am a 3-year-old red and white Papillon. In the first months of my life my “foster mother” was determined to find a loving home for me to live. She chose a house where a nice lady in a wheelchair lived. This seemed ideal, but this woman was not able to care for a young and active pup like me. My foster mother was then sadly resigned to take me back where I was born. But what was going to happen to me? I was almost a year old.
At this point though, by some fateful force, she received a phone call from an old friend who had recently lost their 8-year-old Leonardo, also a Papillon. Leonardo left behind a little 5-year-old big brother, Victor, and two daddies, Steve Burns and Gary Spero. It was only a few weeks since Leonardo had left this realm. My foster mother sent them a picture of me. Before you knew what happened, they were in California to meet me for the beginnings, hopefully, of a lifetime home for us all.
My new brother looked really happy to see me, and I believed this was all meant to be. My foster mother truly thought that me coming into my new home was like a “Christmas miracle.” I love my house and my yard where rabbits, birds, and even little lizards wandered about in their own little homes. I know that I get so happy when my Daddy Steve gets my leash and we go out to walk around Robson Circle and Sunrise Park. We also all get into the car and enjoy all the rabbits that run and play in our beautiful community. PebbleCreek has become our little portion of heaven right here on earth, and love is what made it so.
