Ken Duvall
This is Maili. She is an 8-month-old Tibetan Terrier. As one would expect, they hail from Tibet where they were considered the Holy Dog of Tibet by the local monks. Their job in the Tibetan Monasteries is that of the alarm system. When they notice a potential intruder coming up the trail, they would “sound the alarm” by barking, thereby alerting the Tibetan Mastiff. The Mastiff would then eat the intruder (so I have been told).
Tibetan Terriers are relative newcomers to America. They were bred by a lady in England after being gifted one by a monk in Tibet. From England they arrived in America and have lived here like royalty for around 70 years.
Tibetan Terriers (AKA: TTs) are very smart and loyal. The males will grow to around 28-32 pounds and females to around 26 pounds. Litters range from 5-8 puppies and should only be purchased from AKC registered breeders.
