Pet of the Month: Introducing Phoenix!

Hello (RUFF RUFF)!

My name is Phoenix Ulysses Pusch. My parents gave me this name so my initials would be PUP. By the way, I have many nicknames. My parents (Deb and Mike Pusch) call me Phoenix, PUP, Bean Bag, and Stinky when I need a bath. I really don’t know where that Bean Bag name came from. Silly mom!

I am a West Highland Terrier. My breed of dogs originated from the Cairn Terrier. The story is quite interesting, check it out sometime.

I was born at Nancy’s Westies of Arkansas. My canine parents were Angus and Lilly. I was from a really cute litter of four; I had two sisters and one brother. I was the runt, but I can hold my own. In fact, on occasion I stay at my cousin Zola’s house. She is so long legged that I can walk underneath her. My Aunt Melinda loves to play with us, and takes good care of me while my parents go on vacation.

Many months of the year I live up in Prescott, but when it becomes snowy up there my belly hangs in the snow so I prefer PebbleCreek where I can take walks with my folks.

Speaking of my belly, I enjoy a good old belly rub, but my favorite is an under the jaw line scratching. Wow! Paws Up! I am a very lucky PUP because I have had 15-plus years of love.

I have traveled all over the country with my parents in an RV. Actually, I love going “bye-bye” in the car or golf cart. I am a “get ready and go type of guy.” I’m usually the first out of the door.

Well, that is my story, I will close now. I hope you like my handsome photo.

Hugs and Paws Up, PUP
