Hi! My name is Benjamin Rex Westby, “Benji” for short, but I think I should be “Lucky” because I am the luckiest two year old Bichon Frise in the world! Well—let me explain!
I was born on September 17, 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the Purebred Breeders of Oppelo. My soon-to-be father saw a picture of me on the internet when I was two and a half months old (my name was Buster then). It was love at first sight! Dad’s granddaughter was right! I was the one he needed! So, on December 13, 2013 I boarded Delta Flight No. 885 from Arkansas via Georgia and finally landed in Phoenix! Quite the trip for me as young as I was! I think, for me, it is a good thing I don’t remember all those hours in the sky!
I am also lucky to have a big brother! His name is Casey and he was eight years old on October 23. He was born in Glendale, Arizona at the Horizon Sheltie Kennels. He is a two-time gold medal winner in Agility Jumping! Yep! A champion jumper! Dad told me the story of how Casey was on his way to winning his third gold medal in the Agility Competition when he decided to rest in the middle of one of the collapsible tunnels. Dad could not get him to come out! Needless to say, he finished last! But he made up for that boo-boo when he competed in another meet! Dad fell, but the crowd went wild as Casey ran through all fifteen obstacles by himself! He didn’t miss one! Dad was amazed, surprised, and very proud, all at the same time!
So, you can see why I feel soooo lucky! Not only do I live here in PebbleCreek, but, I have such an amazing big brother and a wonderful Dad by the name of Ken Westby! So, if you see him around Tuscany or by the dog park, ask him how we are doing, OK? Catch ya later!
