Pet of the Month

Gunnar loves his toys

Stanleigh Chism

Hi there! My name is Gunnar. You may see me taking my dad on his morning walks on the Eagle’s Nest side of PebbleCreek. I am an Ori Pei. I bet you have never heard of that dog breed, have you? We have been around for about forty years. They wanted to get rid of the skin problems of the Shar Pei and the breathing problems of the Pug.

I am not the standard of the breed (much too big), but my mom and dad think I am perfect anyway. I always greet people at the door with one of my toys. If I think you are special, I will bring as many toys as will fit in my mouth! I am real friendly and I love when people scratch my back.

Unfortunately, I have Shar Pei fever, also known as Swollen Hock Syndrome. They expected me to be around for about five years, but I proved them wrong. I am nine years old! My folks take good care of me. I am chubby because of the medicine I have to take, but that just means more of me to pet!
