It’s summer and the hot weather is upon us; however, this does not hinder the year-round resident tennis players from enjoying time on the tennis courts. In the cooler hours of the morning, the tennis courts are busy with residents enjoying the sport for a lifetime.

If you are considering learning how to play tennis or returning to tennis, here are the benefits of this popular sport.

* Improves agility, flexibility and balance.

* Boosts brain power by improving critical thinking, mental alertness and tactical thinking.

* Helps regulate serotonin, which improves your emotional state and sleep cycle, as well as helps curb your appetite.

* It is the perfect social activity, which is physiologically rewarding.

* It’s also a great cardio workout to help keep your weight in check by moving all parts of your body while burning calories.

* Great for stress relief, since your mind is focused on the physical task at hand.

* Improves bone strength and cardiovascular health.

* Develops positive personality characteristics, including optimism, vigor and self-esteem.

Tennis lessons for beginners and players returning to the sport are offered in coordination with the PebbleCreek Tennis Club and instructed by a certified tennis professional.

Tennis Club membership includes many benefits including monthly socials with mixed doubles play followed by lunch and dinner (September through May), skills and drills, ladies’ drop-in tennis, men’s drop-in tennis, the use of the tennis ball machine, 13 lighted tennis courts, ten tennis teams at varying levels, Thursday night mixed doubles tennis, date night mixed doubles followed by a gathering at Toscana’s Restaurant and the annual Christmas/Holiday party at the Tuscany Falls clubhouse with dinner and dancing.
