2014 has been an active year of donating quilts and other items made by the PebbleCreek Quilters. Donations were made to nine different charities in the Southwest Valley. Recipients included:

Southwest Family Advocacy: 39 quilts and seven handmade toys

Hospice of the Valley: 35 quilts

Ryan’s House (Hospice for Children): 14 quilts

ACES (Austin Centers for Exceptional Students): 29 quilts

Luke Air Force Base: two quilts

Aqua Fria: eight lap quilts

Hope’s Closet for New Life Center (Family Shelter): eight quilts and curtains for window

Miscellaneous quilts given by individual quilters: four quilts and 10 pillowcases

Total: 161 quilts, seven handmade toys, 10 pillowcases and curtains

Recently we accepted another charity, The West Valley Hospital Auxiliary. They were in need of flannel receiving blankets for newborn babies to be given to Moms with a need. We immediately donated 22 flannel receiving baby quilts.

While club members enjoy the activity of quilting, they received the additional gratification of seeing their finished products donated to others.
