PebbleCreek Live on Stage – April 2025

“White Christmas the Musical” Auditions

Laurie Farquhar

It may seem a little early to be thinking about next Christmas, but not for ShowTime. The theater group’s fall’s production is White Christmas the Musical, and auditions for this award-winning show are coming up soon.

White Christmas the Musical will run for 6 nights from Monday, Nov. 17 through Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025. Tryouts will be Tuesday, April 8, 5:40 to 7:30 p.m., and Thursday, April 10, 5 to 7:30 p.m., in the Renaissance Theater. Callbacks, if necessary, will be on April 12, 10 a.m. to noon, also in the theater.

Audition material, which includes music, script pages, and other instructions, is available online on the ShowTime page of the HOA website, pebblecreekhoa.org. Once you have logged onto the website, go to “Things to Do,” scroll down to “Clubs,” and click on “ShowTime Productions, Inc.” A link to the audition material is next to the White Christmas promo.

If you have any questions about the material or about the production, please contact Director Carole Palmer at [email protected]. Assistant Director Sharon Graville is booking audition times and can be reached at [email protected] or 623341-0890.

White Christmas the Musical is a favorite feel-good story about two song-and-dance men who follow two sisters to Vermont where the women are performing at a quaint country inn. It turns out the inn is owned by the guys’ World War II commander, but it is in financial trouble. Can the four of them come up with a Christmas miracle to save the General’s home?

There are more than a dozen speaking roles plus a large ensemble of singers and dancers in the production, so grab your scarf and gloves and come audition for this inspiring holiday tale.

PebbleCreek Singers: Moments to Remember

Concert Time for the PebbleCreek Singers

Diane Piehl

It is concert time for the PebbleCreek Singers! Are you ready? Do you have your tickets for “Moments to Remember”? You won’t want to miss this concert as the chorus shares favorites from our repertoire selected by the membership. Depending on how many concerts you’ve attended, you may recognize one or two, but all would be new for first time patrons, plus you may have a favorite as well so surprises abound.

Again, we share the addition of another new member: Dee Swettman, second soprano.

Because we sing, we go from spirituals to patriotic! And, who doesn’t like a little rock ‘n’ roll along with a dancing queen? I’m walking with the girl who’s got away and we’re glory bound. Oh, what about Gershwin! Well, maybe. You’ll enjoy every minute.

Tickets went on sale March 24 for performances on April 24, 25, and 26. We would welcome your spending an evening of beautiful and fun music with the PC Singers. To purchase tickets, go to pebblecreeekhoa.org, click on Things to Do, then Tickets. Scroll down to find the PebbleCreek Singers and click on Buy Tickets. Seats are $20 (handling fee included). Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.

Laurie Farquhar

Don’t forget that auditions for PC Players fall production, The Sweet Delilah Swim Club, are coming up in a couple of weeks.

This hilarious comedy tells the story of five women who became life-long friends after meeting on their college swim team and how they meet every August at the same beach cottage on the Outer Banks of North Carolina where they laugh, cry, and solve each other’s problems. It’s a friendship that lasts more than 50 years, and this play recounts four of their annual reunions.

The Sweet Delilah Swim Club will run for four nights from Wednesday, Oct. 22 to Saturday, Oct. 25. However, auditions are coming up on Monday, April 14, 3 to 6 p.m., and Wednesday, April 16, 6 to 9 p.m., in the Eagles Nest Ballroom both days. This allows residents who leave for the summer an opportunity to try out. Rehearsals will begin in early August.

The Sweet Delilah Swim Club script is currently available to read online by going to thesweetdelilahswimclubperusalscript-issuu.

In the meantime, Director Donna Gray has character descriptions and monologues available for those who want to audition for specific roles. Donna can be reached at 602321-1597 or [email protected]. To book an audition time, please contact Assistant Director Leslie Darden at 541255-8014.
