PebbleCreek Homeowners Give Generously to Employee Assistance Funds

Recent HOA facility closures due to COVID-19 caused some HOA employees to work reduced hours and left some with no work at all. Concerned for their welfare, an amazing number of PebbleCreek residents stepped up to provide some assistance through two special funds that were established for the employees.

Beverly Bonich set up a “Save the PebbleCreek Restaurant Staff” campaign on GoFundMe.com to raise money for staff who relied on tips, like servers, bartenders, and kitchen-runners. Beverly posted news about her campaign on the community e-groups and, initially thought she’d get $10 and $20 donations and hoped to raise $1,000. “I couldn’t believe how generous everyone was,” Beverly exclaimed. “Right away, I was getting lots of $100 and $50 donations and donations ranged from $5 to $1,000! It was just amazing. We ended up with over $35,000, which was all dispersed to staff.  It’s just fantastic how the folks in PebbleCreek always step up.”

A second fund, also set up on GoFundMe.com, raised money for additional HOA employees impacted by changes/closures due to coronavirus. The fund was monitored and managed by a group of volunteer homeowners led by Bob Young, with the help of Jim Beyers and Jane Cook. Their campaign exceeded its goal of $25,000 in just a few short weeks! “The generosity and support received for this effort has been inspiring,” shared Bob Young. “A huge thank you to everyone who donated.”
