With social distancing protocols firmly in place, the PebbleCreek Gun Club held its annual pistol shooting contest at the Joe Foss Shooting Range this past November. “We had an exceptionally good turnout this year,” noted Dan Borchers, PebbleCreek Gun Club vice president. “We had a lot of great scores and a lot of fun.”
The pistol competition was, however, not without some controversy. The 2019 Rim Fire Pistol Champion, Lou DeCarolis, says he may contest Phil Batton’s 2020 win because “the limit on donuts consumed and coffee drunk was set at three each and I know for a fact that Phil went over the limit and was completely wired to shoot his best—and he did! I did protest to the shoot committee, but so far no one seems to care. I do plan to make sure we closely monitor Phil’s coffee and sugar intake next year!”
