Spring is always a busy fellowship time for PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC). As we prepare to bid farewell to all the snowbirds, we manage to pack in a variety of fun events before they leave.
We had our seventh annual Golf Scramble followed by a BBQ dinner and door prize drawing. Through our 50/50 drawing we were able to donate $500 to the Aqua Fria Food/Clothing Bank, which is one of the charities supported by PCCC.
The next weekend the church hosted the annual Easter Saturday Fun Walk, which is open to all church and community members, their families and friends. Refreshments were provided by the Church Fellowship Committee and the weather cooperated perfectly, giving us a good turnout.
Then on Sunday, April 3 we celebrated with our second annual Black and White Variety Dinner Show in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. We had a delicious sit-down dinner and everyone was looking lovely in evening attire. George Thomas, our Master of Ceremonies, was eloquent as he introduced the array of performers that graced us with their talents.
Bruce Sharp with his magical fingers delighted the audience with Chopin’s Minute Waltz and Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. Lenore Semmler sang a beautiful classic Christian hymn. Next came the multi-talented Ted Moran with an awesome rendition of Elvis singing Don’t Be Cruel and All I Have to Do Is Dream.
Wrapping up the talent portion of the evening was a duet by Margaret Gillespie and Ray Hadden singing the well-known Unforgettable. Back by popular demand was our own Ray “Satchmo” Hadden playing his trumpet and recreating the talent of the famous Louis Armstrong.
Closing out the evening was a Year in Review produced by our talented Roberta Thompson who always seems to be behind her camera catching the most memorable moments throughout the year. With her added music and hilarious comments, we always enjoy her video review of the year.
The Fellowship Committee is already planning many wonderful events for 2016-2017, beginning with a potluck in November. We invite everyone to come to PebbleCreek Church every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. as we turn the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom into our sanctuary.
