Three avid Mah Jongg players, Sue Fortunato, Nancy Hume and Sue White, were playing Marvelous Mah Jongg one morning recently and realized that they could develop a card just for PebbleCreekers who love to play Mah Jongg and gear the card specifically towards our community. They decided to call the card Pebble Jongg!

What is Pebble Jongg? It is an alternative set of Mah Jongg hands that uses the traditional Mah Jongg tiles and follows the usual rules. The Pebble Jongg card has 31 hands, including an Atomic hand (all pairs), and for all of you who have missed the NEWS hand, you will find it on this card. There are six categories: Windy NEWS, Ups and Downs, 55 and Over, Sets of Threes, Things To Do In PebbleCreek and What Year Is It? You will also find a new scoring suggestion on the card. While the card isn’t intended to replace the traditional card we all use, it can be used as a fun alternative to your game.

The first version of the Pebble Jongg card will be available December 1. Cards may be obtained by emailing [email protected]. You will need to include your full name and phone number. The cost is $5, cash only, and all profits received will be donated to the Kare Bears organization of PebbleCreek.

We will also be selling the card on December 17 both before and after the Kare Bears Holiday Program at the Eagle’s Nest ballroom. The program begins at 11:00 a.m. Even if you can’t attend the program, stop by to purchase a card in the lobby.

This would be the perfect holiday gift for your Mah Jongg friends!

Let’s Pebble Jongg!
