Community Services Report

The months of December through April are, typically, a very busy time of the year for us in Community Services and Patrol. Two issues we would like to bring to everyone’s attention this month are reminders regarding Golf Cart Rules and the utilization guidelines of Overflow Parking in the RV Overflow lot at Eagle’s Nest.

Golf Carts

Underage Drivers: At various times of the year we field complaints concerning underage children driving golf carts. Although this may appear seemingly harmless, there are potentially serious consequences if something goes wrong! Each year there are reports of accidents involving underage children driving golf carts resulting in serious injury and/or death. These types of tragedies are, in many circumstances, avoidable; however, it involves responsible decision making on the part of people our kids and/or grandkids trust with their safety, meaning you! Fortunately we have not had a child seriously injured or killed here at PebbleCreek nor should we tempt fate thinking it can’t happen here! Remember that if an accident happens and it involves an underage driver, the owner or licensed passenger risks enormous liability that, again, is avoidable. Patrol will ticket the owner of any cart stopped with an underage driver.

No golf carts are allowed on the golf cart paths unless they are playing golf.

Golf carts must follow the same traffic rules as automobiles. Stop at stop signs, yield to pedestrians and signal when turning. Watch your speed, maintain a safe assured clear distance to the vehicle ahead of you and never assume anything! (Such as everyone around you being aware of your presence.)

Golf carts, out of courtesy, should try to park in golf cart parking spots but are not required to do so. A golf cart has the same rights to a regular parking stall as a car.

Utilize headlights during the times of day (dawn and dusk) when your visibility is jeopardized because you’re not seen by other cart operators, motor vehicles, motorcycles and bicyclists. A general rule of thumb is to utilize your headlights until such time the sun has risen in the morning and set in the evening.

Guest Parking

Guests may park in the driveway during the day and overnight but must display the guest pass on their dash. They cannot park in the street after midnight or before 6:00 a.m.

RV and Overflow Parking

A visitor’s RV may not be parked on the street or in a driveway overnight.

RV parking is permissible in parking lot north of the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse (east of the Pro Shop Bag Drop sign) and the driveway marked with the small metal sign that reads “RV Temporary Parking” may be used for overnight parking of an RV. A visitor’s entry pass must be properly displayed in the RV and the Patrol must be provided with the visitor’s and the RV owner’s name, location being visited and the telephone number(s) where they can be reached. An unidentified RV may be removed (towed) at the owner’s expense. Parking in this location is limited to 48 hours in any seven day period.

Sleeping in an RV is prohibited while parked in PebbleCreek.

Vehicle owners need to make other parking arrangements for parking over 48 hours due to restricted available parking.

Welcome back, everyone! Happy holidays!
