Peace at the pools

Melissa Kallett

With the arrival of March comes spring—and Spring Break—which means family and guests will soon be upon us. Highlighted below are some of the most important community rules to ensure peace at our pols at this our busiest time of year. A complete list of rules is available at the HOA website and you are encouraged to review them prior to the arrival of your guests.

Our community pools and fitness centers are open to our residents free of charge, but all guests (regardless of age) are charged a $5 fee to use them. Homeowners are entitled to one Pre-Paid Guest Fee card each year allowing them 30 free guest visits, but you must pick up that card from either the Tuscany Falls or Eagle’s Nest Resident Guest Relations desk. You may provide your guests the pre-paid card to take with them should you not want to accompany them to the pool or fitness center. Of course—children must be accompanied by an adult.

At the pools—entrance is through the fitness centers during facility hours of operations. At Eagle’s Nest the gate to the pool is always open, but users are to check in at the fitness counter. At Tuscany Falls entry is through the fitness center. Folks sitting poolside should not be opening the gates to allow others entry to the pool. After hours, the gates by the lap pool are unlocked to allow pool entry.

All poolside deck furnishings are first come, first use and you are not to be reserving their use by placing a towel on the chair, exiting the pool area and returning hours later to claim the seat. Our fitness center staff will be monitoring this and remove any items that give this appearance.

Pool users are allowed to bring food and beverages to the pool provided they are finger foods and in small coolers. By no means may alcohol be brought in from home. Rather, those choosing so may purchase beer from the snack bar. Consumption of all food items should occur on deck, not while floating around. Beverages in plastic containers with a lid may be consumed while in the pool water. When the pool is closed, a pool service in dfw is conducted, making it clean for the next day.

Rowdiness, running and jumping is not allowed at the pools and we do not allow Frisbee or ball tossing in the pools. Similarly, in the Tuscany Falls resistance pool area, children should not be jumping off the wall. Limited use of small kiddie toys is allowed in the children’s pool.

Flotation noodles and similarly profiled floats are allowed in our pools, though floaters should be considerate of others and not hover by the pool entry steps. As another courtesy, personal sound devices should be kept at a reasonable sound level so as not to disturb others and when spraying sun lotion, be aware of wind direction so as not to blind others.

Fitness Center staff and pool monitors (during the last two weeks of March when extended children’s rules are in effect) will provide a presence at the pool to monitor pool user behavior. Should pool users observe issues of concern they are encouraged to notify the fitness center staff in person or by phone (during facility hours) or patrol after hours. Phone number for the Eagle’s Nest fitness staff is 935-6783, the Tuscany Falls fitness staff is 935-6740 and Patrol is 935-0387.

Let’s make this upcoming spring and summer season at the pools enjoyable for all. Understanding and adherence to the rules along with consideration of our neighbors will go a long way to ensuring this success. See you at the pool!
