PCSSA Remembers Those Who Played the Game

The PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association memorial wall

Fred Dresser

As we begin 2022, we look back at the year that was. The PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association (PCSSA) is a family that cares about their players, as well as their families.

During the past year, the PCSSA family lost not only players, but players’ loved ones as well.

To remember those players who played the game and are no longer with us, the PCSSA erected a memorial wall a few years back. These individuals were not just softball players, they were husbands, fathers, brothers, and friends. They enjoyed the spirit of the game, as well as the friendships that were developed over the years.

Many current players remember their contributions to the game and to this special league. For the new players just coming into this league, these players who came before helped to make this league what it is today.

This memorial wall is located on the visitor’s side of the field and displays their individual names. Take a moment to stop by to remember these players and read the following inscription on the wall, which states:

For when the Great Scorekeeper comes to write about your name,

He writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the game.

The inscription speaks to every one of us, ballplayer or not. We look forward to the coming year and the challenges that lay ahead.
