The PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association (PCSSA) is scheduled to begin their 28th season of play on Saturday, Oct. 22. Before then, however, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done to the Robson Field of Dreams prior to opening day.
To start off with, the entire infield will be torn up and rebuilt along with removing and replacing 7 feet of sod around the perimeter of the infield to remove the unevenness between the infield and outfield grass. The infield will be lowered 2 1/2 inches. A new half-inch subgrade mixture will then be added and tilled into the current field mix. The new subgrade will allow water to percolate down to the new subgrade to avoid puddling in the infield.
Overseeing this complete makeover is Howard Locker, director of field maintenance.
The 28th season of the PCSSA is just around the corner, and it promises to be another great season.
