The PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association (PCSSA) lost one of their finest in September.
Jack Hogan was one of those individuals that played the game of softball like he lived his life. Jack loved the game and always appreciated the other players in the league. You would never hear an unkind word from him; truly a first-class gentleman. Here’s a quick look back at Jack’s life.
Jack was born and raised in the Chicago area. In 1967 he attended the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado. The Chicago Cubs signed Jack in 1968 and he played in the Cub’s minor league system playing third base and the outfield. The Cubs invited him to Spring Training in 1969.
Jack joined the PCSSA in 2007.
In 2008, he reconnected with his grade school sweetheart (Bevy) and in 2010, Bevy and Jack were married.
He was a big Broncos and Rockies fan. One of Jack’s proudest moments was when the team he managed and played on (Augies) won the 2015 PCSSA Championship.
When the Great Scorekeeper comes to write about your name;
He writes not that you won or lost,
But how you played the game. —Author unknown
Jack, you will be missed by all of us.
