PCSSA and the Year Ahead

Fred Dresser

The new year has started, and the holidays are once again behind us. With that being said, the PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association (PCSSA) calendar is already getting pretty full. Here’s a quick view of the 2022 calendar:

January sees the 27th season, well underway.

February shows up, and the PCSSA players will drop their bats for a day and pick up thin, little sticks called drivers on Wednesday, Feb. 23rd at their annual golf outing and attempt to hit a ball that is considerably smaller than the 12-inch circumference softball that they normally try to hit. Needless to say, there will be some interesting remarks regarding one’s ability to hit it straight!

March will see the 27th season ending, and planning for the spring season and draft will commence.

April arrives, and the season ending banquet will be held. The spring season starts and will run to the middle of June. Elections for board positions take place.

May drops in, and newly elected board members take office.

July and August will have good, old-fashioned pickup games available for registered players. These games will be fun and interesting, as infielders will try to play the outfield and outfielders will try their hands as an infielder. The harassment will start immediately.

September starts the planning for the upcoming 28th season draft and season start.

October will see the 28th season get underway with the traditional opening day ceremonies.

November to December will see the fall/winter season in full swing.

Whew!
