On April 3 at the Member-Member tournament annual meeting, the PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association (PCMGA) elected officers for the 2025-26 golfing season. They officially take office on June 1.
Introducing our leaders:
Joey Grande (President)—Joey was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. He earned his B.A. in Accounting and Finance at Baruch College in NYC. He spent 42 years with Turner Construction Company, an international firm. He served as regional controller of the Northeast region as well as training director, traveling extensively. He and his wife, Erika, moved to the Phoenix area with Turner in 2006 first in Buckeye, then PebbleCreek a year later. He retired in 2022. Besides golf, his hobbies include astronomy, photography, and drawing. Serving as president, Joey’s main responsibility is to preside at meetings and oversee the daily operation of the PCMGA.
Greg O’Connor (Vice President)—Greg is originally from Highland, Ind., just south of Chicago. He graduated from Butler University with a B.S. in Business Administration and played golf there for four years. He spent his 44-year working career as a commercial banker focusing on international markets, mergers/acquisitions, and construction markets. He served as a city councilman for 16 years in Noblesville, Ind., and held positions of president of council and finance committee chair formulating growth strategies and funding the tactical programs related thereto. He and his wife of 44 years, Teena, are enjoying life in PebbleCreek. Serving as vice president, Greg’s main job is to chair the Member-Guest Tournament.
Chris Bernard (Secretary)—Chris grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and has lived in Cleveland, San Francisco, Boston, and Chapel Hill, N.C. He and his long-time partner, Deb Wiener, recently moved to PebbleCreek from San Diego. He graduated from Hiram College with a B.A. in psychobiology. His career largely focused on oncology and infectious disease diagnostics, devices, and tests. He was a board-certified cytologist at Mount Sinai Hospital. He served in leadership roles (CEO/president/board member, etc.) at several biotech companies including Applied BioCode, Curetis USA, Epic Sciences, Metabolon, Abaxis, and Hologic, Inc. Serving as secretary, Chris’ main function is to keep the minutes of the PCMGA’s meetings and communicating the results of those meetings via the PCMGA website.
Kurt Fischer (Treasurer)—Kurt was born and raised in Des Plaines, Ill. He earned his business degree in accounting at the University of Illinois. He started his career at Ernst & Young in the audit department spending five years there with McDonald’s Corp as his main client. He then spent 28 years at McDonald’s doing accounting, then in a financial systems role. His hobbies besides golf include softball, pickleball, and playing the stock market. He retired in 2020 and moved to PebbleCreek with his wife, Laura. As treasurer, Kurt’s key responsibilities include keeping membership records, issuing checks, and preparing monthly financial reports.
