Anticipation reached a fever pitch as the PebbleCreek Men’s Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) hosted its highly awaited annual Step-Aside Scramble on July 30 at the scenic Tuscany Falls West Course.
As one of the club’s premier fixtures on the calendar, this signature event continues to draw immense enthusiasm from the membership, blending camaraderie with a fun twist on traditional tournament play.
Under the popular step-aside format, foursomes strategize on every shot, with the team member who hits the best initial ball stepping aside to let their peers handle the subsequent shots. This unique mechanic levels the playing field, creating an atmosphere where teamwork and precision are paramount from the first tee box to the final green.
Behind the seamless execution of the tournament was pairing coordinator Steve Schwartz, whose meticulous grouping magic ensured tightly contested flights and close leaderboards from start to finish.
With coveted prize money on the line for the top 5 teams, the competition was fierce under the summer sun. Golfers navigated the challenging fairways of the East Course before gathering to celebrate a fantastic morning on the links, share post-round refreshments, and await the official leaderboard reveal.
The club extends its congratulations to all the flight winners and participants who made this year’s tournament another resounding success. With such high enthusiasm surrounding the summer schedule, members are already looking forward to the next major club gathering.
