Red was definitely the predominant color for the annual two-day PCLGA Cupid’s Divot Tournament coinciding with Valentine’s Day on February 11 and 12, 2017. Co-Chairs Mary Falso and Pam Schunke went all out in planning this special event. Sixty-eight twosomes signed up, picking their own foursomes, and played two fun afternoons of golf. The teams were divided into four flights by handicap. The first day was a Cupid’s Scramble on Palms/Lakes; the second day was played on Eagle’s Nest, the format being one best ball from each twosome combined for a team score. The two days’ scores were combined to determine the winning teams.
An Italian buffet dinner followed the second day of the tournament consisting of Caesar salad, pasta, chicken parmegiana, grilled vegetables, Italian sausage with peppers and onions and cheesecake for dessert. The Eagle’s Nest dining room tables were decorated for the occasion with tulips and candy kisses.
Following dinner, Pro Jason Whitehill announced the winning teams of each flight as follows:
