Pre-event massage for Susie
The day was Saturday, April 11, 2015, and it was a beautiful sunny day to participate in a sprint triathlon. For the fourth consecutive year, the PebbleCreek TriChicks were prepped and ready to go! TriChick participants included Susie Nee, Mary Simmons, Mary Lacy, Kathy Vienna, Vicki Carter, Gilda Poitras, Julie Walmsley, Gretchen Simons, Suzanne Hetts, Jackie Armstrong, Sandy Crabtree, Nancy TerHaar and Susanne Vander Heyden with Lynn Plesha and Stephanie Jensen cheering us every step of the way and Cheryl Brodbeck cheering us on from Atlanta. Also participating from PebbleCreek were Roberta Diles, Laura Leno and Fred Carlson.
The event included a 300 yard serpentine swim followed by an 8.4 mile bike ride and a 2K run. This year the largest group of participants was in the 60 plus age group. PebbleCreekers came away with five medals, two in the 55 to 59 age group and three in the 60 plus age group.
There were a record number of PebbleCreek supporters out to cheer the group on throughout the event. A potluck brunch followed the event and the TriChicks reminisced about all the great times they enjoyed this past season.
Although many have left for their summer homes, friendships will continue and experiences will be shared via email. As usual the TriChicks will participate in the Tour de PebbleCreek wherever they find themselves during the event.
