Mike Shouse
Mike Shouse, author of Boomer Bungle (Amazon 2012), has released a new book on the experiences of life inside the walls of a retirement community.
Gated and Guarded is a funny peek into the 55 Plus world of gated golf communities. Set in the fictional hamlet of StoneBrook, a west valley Phoenix suburb, it describes the amenities and anomalies of resort-style living and highlights this author’s continuing saga dealing with the struggles of retirement. “Take a golf cart ride through the gated, guarded maze of designer homes, past the elaborately decorated, imposing and majestic structures of the clubhouse, restaurants and sporting facilities that capture the attention of retirees who visit in search of the Fountain of Youth. Just past the guard shack and through the iron gates. Hop on.”
Gated and Guarded by Mike Shouse is available in print at Amazon.com and digitally through Kindle. Meet the author at his book signings every Saturday morning from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in December and January, across from the Kare Bears House in Pebble Creek.
