PebbleCreek Quilters steps up once again! The Community Service committee hosted a one-day workshop to make as many boy-themed quilt tops as possible to fill a request made by Southwest Family Advocacy Center, one of the charities that PC Quilters supports.
The early crew showed up before 9:00 a.m. to organize two laundry baskets of new fabrics donated by Lynda Parker in honor of her husband’s birthday. The donated fabrics were blended with other fabrics from the extensive closet stash and patterns brought by several members. At 10:00 a.m. the cutting and sewing frenzy began!
The group of 20 members came together to enjoy breakfast treats, pizza lunch and each other’s company as they completed over ten boy-themed quilts during the workshop with others being taken home to be completed. Linda Publicover and Kathy Brown kept the longarm quilting machine buzzing the entire day and completed four quilts.
Other kits were made up for the members to complete throughout the summer. It is always an exciting challenge to take donated fabric and create a quilt with a particular theme…the PC Quilters are always up to the challenge.
