At the general membership meeting held on March 11, the PebbleCreek Pickleball Club (PCPB) members elected a new PCPB Club board.
Martha Urbin, former board secretary, was elected as president. Jim Barbe (vice president) and Judy Parker (officer-at-large) will remain on the board in their current positions. Members welcomed two new board members Lezlee Leonardi (secretary) and Lindsay Laven (treasurer). The new board terms are effective May 1, 2020.
Martha Urbin commented, “I’m excited to be in the position of president for such a fantastic group of people in the PCPB Club. Thanks to past president, Bob Chester and PCHOA representatives Steve Harper and Bob Parks, who worked with RCI to make new courts a reality and begin the next steps. There is a lot of work to be done and I’m looking forward to working with everyone to meet the challenges in the future.”
Members thanked two outgoing board members, Robin Weaver and Bob Chester. Robin served in two roles on the board. Before stepping in to serve out a vacated term as treasurer, Robin was officer-at-large. The PCPB Club recognizes Robin for all of her hard work, dedication, and the endless hours that she spent organizing social events before assuming the club’s financial role.
Outgoing president, Bob Chester, said, “It has been my great honor to have served on the board that has transformed the club to where it is today. I appreciate the efforts of my fellow board members and those of the PCHOA board that worked long and hard on the effort to build more courts in PebbleCreek. I am proud of the journey we took to get here. It was the unwavering support of many of our fellow PCPB Club members that made this happen. I hope we all give the next PCPB board the support needed to move into this new phase for the club. Please be safe this summer, wherever that leads you, and I look forward to seeing you all later this year. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to meet and know many of you. I am the better for it!”
Congratulations to the new PCPB Club board and a heartfelt thank you to Robin Weaver and Bob Chester.
