PC Live On Stage

PebbleCreek Singers Openings

Carrie Mataraza

The PebbleCreek Singers welcomes you to join in the fun of singing with a chorus and is actively seeking tenors, basses, and baritones. First sopranos, second sopranos and alto sections are currently on waiting lists. However, applying and being voice tested for a particular part is always ongoing in all sections of the chorus.

Reading music is very helpful, but if you can match a tone, reading music is not totally necessary. Please contact one of our Audition Coordinators, Myra Saunders at 505-320-8085 or Virginia Baker at 623-248-6323 and they will make arrangements for you to be voice tested. Applications are available at the Eagle’s Nest clubhouse across from the Pro Shop.

Now is the time to become a member of our musical family!

Burst of Music XVI—They’re Baaack!

Susan Kice

Contrary to what you may have heard, The PebbleCreek Big Band is alive and well and is preparing to present Burst of Music XVI for your listening pleasure. In case you’re wondering what the “XVI” indicates, it’s the number of consecutive years The PebbleCreek Big Band has been presenting concerts to PC audiences. Since last October, the 21 musicians have been hard at work honing their skills in preparation for this performance. Expect to hear the same great music as before, including jazz, swing, Latin, and ballads, as well as some old familiar songs that you know and love.

There are new faces in the spotlight this year. First and foremost, the band would like to welcome and introduce their new conductor, Mike Wiesner. Mike is a retired music teacher with more than 40 years’ experience in the music world. He also plays trumpet and is active in several bands in the Phoenix area. Another newcomer joining Mike and the musicians on stage is vocalist Vince Coppola. You won’t want to miss his performance! And returning as female vocalist is Becky Trimble. You may remember how she wowed audiences last year with her beautiful voice.

Burst of Music XVI dates are March 16, 17, and 18. Tickets will go on sale online only on Friday, Feb. 17, at 8 a.m., so mark your calendars. Last year all three nights were sold out!
