During the PebbleCreek Hiking Club’s recent overnight trip to Palm Springs, Lynn Warren reached the 3,000 miles hiked plateau. Lynn became only the fifth hiker in the 10 years the club has tracked miles hiked to reach 3,000 miles. We were hiking the well known Ladders Trail in Meca Hills. The club does six hikes a week covering three levels: short (four miles), medium (five to eight miles) and long (over nine miles). For more information and photos about the club, please visit our website at pchikers.org.

On December 1, thirteen hikers from the PebbleCreek Hiking Club did a hike in nearby Verrado. The club hikes as close as Verrado (such as this hike) to as far as Prescott and Sedona. All of our hikes give you opportunities to appreciate what the nature can do if left undisturbed. The club does hikes on most weekdays and provides hikes for different levels of fitness. Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. For more photos and information about the club, please check out the club’s website at pchikers.org.

The Black Canyon Trail (BCT) is a 62 mile desert multi-use trail parallel to I-17 that stretches from the Carefree Highway up to the Prescott National Forest, skirting the base of the Bradshaw Mountains. On a cool overcast November morning, nineteen members of the PC Hiking Club warmed up for Thanksgiving by hiking the 10 mile Glorianna segment of the BCT above Black Canyon City. The club hikes five days a week and meets on the third Thursday of the month and has hikes for most levels of fitness; visit the club website at PCHIKERS.ORG for more information and photos.
