Pc Hiking Club Diary

The PebbleCreek Hiking Club did two sunset hikes on March 11 in nearby Skyline Regional Park. 20 members of the club got together to do late afternoon hikes at two levels (4 miles and 5.7 miles) and then enjoyed light snacks as they watched the sunset. It was a very interesting hike as we watched the sun disappear behind the mountains as we were hiking, though it was not actually sunset yet. Our hike leaders were Ruth Bindler (who also coordinated the event) and Dana Thomas. Lynn Warren was the photographer. While the club does regular hikes six mornings a week, occasionally we will do other hikes such as this sunset hike. We have three levels of hikes – D (4-5 miles), C (6-8 miles), and B (9+ miles). For more photos and information about the hikes check out our website at pchikers.org.

Because of popular demand for overnight trips, the hiking club divided into two groups for a recent three-day overnight trip. On February 27, the rst group headed to Tucson only to encounter a rare spring snow. What a difference a week makes! The following week, the second group was treated to three days of hiking in beautiful weather and nished with a ourish with

a hike to Seven Falls in Sabino Canyon, a beautiful and extremely popular hiking area on the outskirts of Tucson. At the falls, the hikers paused to congratulate Nadine for reaching 1,000 miles, an important milestone. The hiking club enjoys interesting hikes all around the valley as well as a few overnight adventures such as this; visit the club website at pchikers.org for more information and photos.
