PC Dems Celebrate Mardi Gras: More Fun to Come!

Celebrants at the PebbleCreek Democratic Mardi Gras party, complete with costumes, food, dancing, and fun!

Alisa Moore

What a party it was—90 folks gathered in appropriately colorful (green, gold, and purple) costumes to dine and dance the evening away. Our annual Mardi Gras party was a real success, attributable to the hard work of social committee chair Frankie Veltri and her committee.

March has proven to be a month of activities—political, social, and educational. Several club members joined Secular AZ at their Day at the Capitol 2022 at the Statehouse on March 14 to advocate for the separation of religion from politics, including banning and burning books, protecting reproductive rights, and objecting to the use of religion as grounds to persecute or harass members of the LGBTQI community and minorities. We also had club members join with other members of our legislative district to register voters at the WigWam Festival of Fine Art. Other activities included the Men’s Breakfast, the Ladies’ Luncheon, mixed game night, and the every-Saturday breakfasts at Eagle’s Nest.

And coming up in April? We will come together for Mexican Train night, a happy hour event, a picnic at Sunrise Park, and our newcomers event—in addition to our regularly scheduled activities. More voter registration and other upcoming political activities will be announced by email and posted on the club’s website.

Our monthly meeting will be held on April 6 at the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The social hour begins at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us. Our speaker will be Kris Mayes, attorney and former member of the Arizona Corporation Commission, and candidate for Arizona Attorney General.
