November pottery class excels

The November Handmade Pottery class was an overwhelming success. Students made three large and impressive projects; a platter with appliqued embellishments of birds, fish, flowers or geckos; a luminaria with pattern designs and appliques and a traditional Japanese-style bottle or vase.

All projects were glazed with a variety of beautiful colors.

Examples of class projects are on display in a showcase outside the pottery room.

The classes offered in January are Extruded Clay Pottery, Clay Bead and Pendant Jewelry and a new class, New Year’s Resolution to Learn Floral Design.

February classes will be Handmade Pottery, Non-Objective Abstract Acrylic Painting and two more classes yet to be determined.

All classes are open to everyone, regardless of past artistic experience or perceived artistic ability.

Signup sheets for all pottery club sponsored classes are in the Expressions Gallery in the Creative Arts Center each month.
