The PebbleCreek Men’s Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) started the new year with a team shamble event on Jan. 12. In this format, all members of the foursome hit off the tee, and all then hit from the best tee shot, finishing the hole by playing their own ball. The three low-net scores are then tallied to determine the team score. The New Year Tournament consisted of two flights, both played on Tuscany Falls West. The Front Nine Flight team of Peter Diliberti, Tim Munson, Steve Thomas, and Dan Sullivan took first-place honors, while the foursome of Bob Seibel, David Pritchyk, Clifford Crooks, and Paul Keikbusch prevailed on the Back Nine Flight.
Golf was followed by refreshments and snacks in the Chianti Room.
January also saw the Niners play a “Lone Ranger” event on the 26th at Tuscany Falls East. In this format, the “Lone Ranger” position is cycled through the four-man team, and scoring is based on the net score of the “Lone Ranger” plus the low net score of the remaining team members. Fortunately Golf Genius handles the details!
Top honors for the “A” Flight went to Mike Michel, Anthony Staley, Russ Dyson, and Dennis Ridgeway. The “B” Flight team of Michael Davis, Dave Petersen, Randy Vlcek, and Joe Nasal won their flight. Gary Hunt, Brian Rothwell, Jared Fors, and Charlie Lowe were winners of the “C” Flight. Topping the “D” Flight was the team of Pete Paris, Jim Seymour, Barry Elfstrom, and Shahid Mecci.
Niners were not only golfing during January. For two consecutive weeks a Niners golf cart parade descended on Tuscany Falls West to spruce up the course. Club members repaired ball marks on greens and filled divots in fairways.
