New instructors for the PebbleCreek Art Club

Sherri Heitz

The PebbleCreek Art Club has been adding new outside and residential instructors. Listed below are three new instructors and I will be presenting more as space and time allow in this newspaper in the coming months. We have a very large number of new residential instructors, many of whom have had shows and displayed their works in various galleries throughout. We feel so fortunate to be able to spotlight their talents and have them share with us. The three artists listed below are the first ones I am highlighting.

Malcolm Beazer has been a drawing instructor for over 30 years and has given classes in oil, acrylic and watercolor. He has been teaching at art clubs and in art stores since arriving in the Valley in 1989. He has also been a judge for clubs and art shows. Malcolm currently teaches art classes at Estrella Mountain Community College.

Malcolm studied at Laguna Beach College of Art and Design and before becoming a full-time professional artist, he enjoyed a career of music, studying at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and received a BA in Music from Oklahoma City University and a Masters in Piano from University of New Mexico.

This is a multi-talented individual who has paintings in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. He believes that drawing will help anyone paint whatever they wish and is looking forward to sharing his love of drawing with all. We are so happy to have Malcolm. His classes will be announced in September.

Jeff Wilson is a PebbleCreek resident and comes to us from Bellevue, Washington. Jeff has a delightful personality and is very enthusiastic about teaching here. Previously he taught in the Bellevue, Washington, school district and was the Washington State Art Educator of the Year for 1991. Jeff has a BA Art, University of Washington and a Masters Education Art from Lesley University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is already teaching pottery in the ceramics room and plans to teach Non-Objective Abstract Painting with acrylics, collage and mandalas. Jeff was a consultant to the Seattle Art Museum for 10 years and a member of the Washington Arts Commission. There is so much more to say about Jeff but you need to look for his classes when they are offered and sign-up.

Antonine Koval, CZT is a PebbleCreek resident who has recently been certified as a Certified Zentangle Instructor. Her work is awesome and she will be giving some interesting classes in October—. Folders are in the Gallery now. She has a degree in Education with a minor in Art. She and her husband Joe moved from Chicago in 2011 and she has been involved with the Art Club since her arrival. She was chosen as Artist of The Month in November 2014 and loves cooking, wine (of course) reading and opera. Check her out!
