Luke Air Force chaplain to address Men’s Christian Fellowship October 7

On October 7 the Men’s Christian Fellowship of PebbleCreek is pleased to have Chaplain Major David Barns from Luke Air Force Base speaking at their monthly meeting. The meeting with be held at 7:30 a.m. in the Tuscany Falls Chianti Room. Coffee and rolls will be available at 7:00 a.m. at the Tuscany Falls Coffee Bar next to the Chianti Room. All PebbleCreek men are invited to attend.

Chaplain Barns is the Deputy Wing Chaplain to the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base. As Deputy Wing Chaplain, he assists the Wing Chaplain in the religious and spiritual care of over 5,000 base personnel and their dependents. Additionally, Chaplain Barns advises the Fighter Wing leadership concerning the First Amendment Constitutional right to the free exercise of religion and cases concerning religious accommodation. Chaplain Barns was ordained as a Southern Baptist Minister in 1994 and served as a pastor in Louisiana for seven years before entering the Air Force Chaplain Corps in 2001. Prior to being assigned to Luke Air Force Base in 2013, he served as Protestant Chaplain at Air Force bases in North Carolina, Mississippi and Virginia. Chaplain Barns also has had deployments in Qatar and Afghanistan. In his current assignment he supervises two active duty chaplains, one reserve chaplain, and has primary charge over all Protestant ministries at Luke Air Force Base.

On November 4 the Fellowship is delighted to have Mr. Ed Sampson from PebbleCreek sharing The Reality of the Christian Walk after the Four Gospels. Ed’s presentation will focus on the vision of the Apostle Paul’s New Testament ministry. All PebbleCreek men are invited to attend.
