It is undeniable that PebbleCreek offers endless, varied options to fill our time. We have golf and pickleball, hundreds of clubs, and art and recreation facilities galore. However, one alternative that may not be so obvious is the chance to meet all kinds of people and forge deep, long-lasting friendships. As many of us are not near our families, our PebbleCreek friends often become like family. That is why, on May 11, a group of Ellie Kovach’s closest friends wanted to celebrate her milestone birthday in a big way.
We wanted to show Ellie how much she is appreciated for all she does for us: caring for our pets, plants, and homes while we are away; hosting our card group; managing our golf group; and for just being so thoughtful and caring, always. Ellie is the “glue” that keeps us together not only during challenging times, but in everyday life as well. She takes her time to be there for others and gives countless hours as a community volunteer.
When we asked Ellie how she wanted to celebrate her birthday, she said, “I want to take a raft trip down the Colorado River.” Unfortunately, none of us were brave enough to join her, so we planned a much safer option on dry land: a lovely night out at Nineteen 86 Steakhouse in the Diamond Desert Casino. We were so fortunate to be seated in their elegant private dining room, where we thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food, outstanding service, and, as always, our time together.
Ellie, if you didn’t know before, we hope you now know how grateful we are to have you as a treasured friend. You enrich our lives and you are so important to all of us. As far as the raft trip goes … maybe next year! Happy Birthday Dear Ellie—we all love you!
