Several of the PebbleCreek Men’s Monday/Wednesday/Friday tennis group noshed at Eagle’s Nest on Nov. 10 for their welcome back event. These men enjoyed breakfast while roasting each other on their individual tennis endeavors. A lovely señorita crafted by John Russell was an award presented to an unnamed male player who seems to exude his prowess on the court whenever his lovely bride comes hither to watch him. Otherwise, it is rumored that he takes it a little bit easier on his opponents. Other members of this group were recognized with various esteemed titles of “best dressed,” “most improved,” “best racket toss,” and “jumper,” as well as a t-shirt that read: “Don’t Make Me Come to the Net.” This was all in jest and promotes fun as well as displays their bond they have both on and off the courts.
These men enjoy the fellowship of fun tennis and laughs. They have been playing together and enjoying their breakfast and lunch gatherings for many years. It is clearly evident they enjoy each other’s time together. The group was founded by Doug Stansfield years ago and it has grown tremendously over the years. Doug does a great job of organizing the weekly play schedule, and Charlie Hunt works with Doug by giving endearing names to each of the players as well as coordinating the recognition gifts.
