At the February 3 Men’s Christian Fellowship meeting Tom Chapman, President and Founder of the organization, presented Prophecy Update-2016. Tom began stating 2016 is likely to be more tenuous than was 2015. The Bible has more to say about the days we are living in than about the days Jesus Christ walked the shores of Galilee. Unfortunately, Bible prophecy is not being taught in most churches and, if taught, it is through individual’s interpretations versus the Spirit of God. Prophecy is the “history of the future” and what the Bible teaches will come to pass regardless what mankind thinks or believes. Nations are aligning today just as the Bible foretold. Regardless of what some contemporary pastors are teaching, collectively across all nations people are bent on wickedness and with hearts filled with violence, just as the Bible said would happen in the Last Days as found in second Timothy 3:1-5.
Tom noted Israel, and its capital Jerusalem, is the key which unlocks end-time prophecy. Today the Middle East is in chaos and the hate and distrust focused on Israel is spreading across the world causing an increase in anti-Semitism. All of the nations bordering Israel want Israel destroyed. If these countries weren’t fighting each other or against ISIS, there is a strong possibility they would already have attacked Israel. Tom reviewed the many challenges Israel faces with its neighbors as well as its significant internal challenges. He noted in Psalm 83 and the Book of Obadiah, the Bible speaks of a time when all of Israel’s neighbors will form a confederation and attack Israel from all directions. Tom indicates this will be Israel’s next war and could begin in 2016. Tom will finish his Prophecy Update at the Fellowship’s May meeting.
On March 2, the Fellowship is pleased to have Gerald Clark speaking on the topic Orphan Ministry and Adoption. Gerald is co-founder of Home for Good, an organization that advocates for orphan ministry and adoption through the development of orphan ministries in local churches. After serving as an Air Force pilot, Gerald spent six years as a missionary bush pilot in the Philippines where the Holy Spirit led him and his wife to the mission orphanage. From this experience Gerald realized the need for a balanced biblical approach to orphan ministry based on practical observations from the Scriptures. Gerald has become a strong advocate for foster care and adoption as a dedicated ministry of the church. Gerald’s book, Adoption and the Gospel, has made significant contributions to the growth and development of adoption in over 70 countries. Most people don’t have a clear understanding of adoption and what it means to be an orphan. Gerald’s message is filled with sound biblical doctrine that most of us have never heard! His message provides a full picture of what life is like for orphan children who mistakenly believe, “If God loved me, I wouldn’t be an orphan!” “You, too, will be blessed as I was,” Tom Chapman, President, Men’s Christian Fellowship.
