The Men’s Christian Fellowship of PebbleCreek (MCFPC) has announced a special contribution to one of the West Valley charitable organizations in time for the holidays. A check for $500 was presented to the Estrella Mountain Salvation Army during the Red Kettle efforts at the Walmart Estrella Parkway location in Goodyear. MCFPC Vice President Igor Shpudejko said the Salvation Army was an excellent choice. “As an organization of Christian men, we wanted to partner with an organization that was ministry motivated and strived to meet the needs of our community,” said Shpudejko.

On hand to receive the donation was Lt. Jayerica Tumale of the Estrella Mountain Corps of the Salvation Army and Red Kettle seasonal worker Denise Whetstone of Goodyear. The Estrella branch of the Salvation Army has been in service to the community since 2001 and serves Avondale, Goodyear, Tolleson, and the Estrella Mountain area. The local social service agency is one of 29 Salvation Armies placed throughout Arizona. The Salvation Army is represented in 126 countries worldwide.

The Salvation Army motto is “Heart to God and hand to men.”

The MCFPC is a group of 125 Christian men who convene a monthly program or community outreach event. They plan to travel to St. Mary’s Food Bank in Surprise on Jan. 29. The group meets the first Wednesday of each month in the Chianti Room at Tuscany Falls at 7:30 a.m. with guest speakers on the Christian faith. All men residing in PebbleCreek are invited to attend.
