March is a very busy month for the PC Quilters. Our new monthly Star Tutorial Program has started this year with a bang and the best part is our members can refresh the class when they leave for their summer homes by going to the class online! Sign up is free to members and $25 for nonmembers. The classes fill very quickly so you really should join the club if you want to have this much fun.
We have started working with the Arizona Quilt Documentation Project which is connected to the nationwide Quilt Index.com to document our members’ collections and new creations. So far 26 quilts have been documented and we have over 70 on the schedule to be completed. Over 24 members are involved with this very important process and there is a lot of learning going on as well.
Our charity sewing keeps growing and we have plenty of quilts that need to be finished before we can donate them.
Monday evenings after 4:00 p.m. are for open clinics; there is an easy technique or pattern shared or you can just come on up and create with like-minded sewing fanatics.
March 19 is a special tour of seven members’ home studios. This is where we all get wonderful ideas on how to turn our extra space at home into our very own sewing haven. You must be a member or guest of a member to purchase a ticket. The limited number of tickets are $10 and not only do you get to tour the fabulous studios here in PebbleCreek, you also receive 10 Opportunity Quilt tickets to be deposited for the drawing in December.
You should really come on over to the Diamondback Room and check us out; there is always some fun fiber art being created. A PC Quilters annual membership is only $20.
