As the pictures of the Arizona Chapter Q’s Fashion Show and Luncheon reveal, a very entertaining time was had by all, the presenters as well as those who attended. From the variety of raffle items to the assortment of fashion styles and colors to the response of the audience, it was quite successful. After the months of planning, purchasing and promoting the event—the members of Arizona Chapter Q are most appreciative of the community’s support.
Our summer camp program is shaping up positively as we prepare the equipment bought for the girls in the past weeks. Next activity with our campers is an event where more of the camping experience is revealed to the girls as well as an overview of the equipment they will be taking. Within a few weeks of this occasion the shopping for their camping clothes will take place. This will complete our preparation for their week in the cool Prescott pines.
The girls will be driven to the meeting place for pickup by the travel buses the second week of June. At the end of their week the chapter members will be at the same place to welcome them home and learn of their camping experience. This is our reward for a year’s work. At the end of summer vacation we will meet with the girls once more for lunch and they will receive school supplies to start off their new year in fifth grade. Throughout our years at Heritage Elementary we’ve been able to keep track of most of our former campers who still remember us when they see us on the campus.
