Diversity of class subjects offers ways to explore new interests
The A to Zs of LifeLong Learning’s classes range from Armchair Travel in Antarctica to Wildlife Photography with 19 other subjects in between. With such diverse offerings surely there’s something that will pique your interest!
Classes begin in January (see below) and are limited in size to enable interaction with the presenters and fellow classmates. Many are taught by PebbleCreek residents who willingly share their knowledge and wisdom with neighbors and friends and most have a small fee to cover associated costs for the class.
Registration is required for all classes, and once the maximum number of registrants is reached the class is closed. Procrastinators, beware! Some classes are already closed so we urge you to download the registration form now (http://lifelonglearningatpc.org/classes/register) and mail it in or bring it to the Eagle’s Nest Kiosk any Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Information about all the classes, which run through March, is available online at www.lifelonglearningatpc.org/classes. The classes that will be held in January are:

PebbleCreek newcomer hits it lucky – 25,000th attendee
Fewer than four months after she moved to PebbleCreek, Jennifer Betts was the lucky winner at the October 27 Monday Morning Lecture. She was the 25,000th person to attend a LifeLong Learning lecture.
Her winning ticket, drawn after Dr. Alexander White finished speaking about the fate of Polish Jews who were sent to Siberia during the Holocaust, won Betts several prizes including a bunch of yellow mums, a LLL tee shirt, two tickets for all remaining LifeLong Learning Monday Morning lectures and two tickets to two Premier Programs: Dr. Connie Mariano, White House physician to three presidents and cancer researcher Dr. Erkut Borazanci.
Betts and her husband Peter may be new to PebbleCreek but she’s already decided to make LifeLong Learning programs a regular part of her life here. She had already purchased a membership in the Cinema Society of PebbleCreek, saw the Teddy Roosevelt premier program and had been to two Monday lectures when she won the prizes.
This year the eleventh season for LifeLong Learning at PebbleCreek has hardly begun but it is already breaking records.
On November 10 everyone attending Steve Hoza’s Monday Morning Lecture received a small flashlight to celebrate being part of the 200th lecture in LifeLong Learning’s history.
Hard to believe, but many people in PebbleCreek are still not aware of the wide diversity of lectures, classes, trips and special events that are part of the LifeLong Learning offerings. To learn more, visit www.lifelonglearningatpc.org or subscribe to the weekly enewsletter by sending your name and email to [email protected].
LLL tickets make great gifts
Tickets to the remaining Premier Lectures are on sale at the Eagle’s Nest Ticket Kiosk until December 20 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:00 until 10:00 a.m.
There are still tickets available for the Scottsdale Chorus for Saturday, February 28 and for Dr. Erkut Borazanci on Friday, March 20. Full details about these programs can be seen in the printed SCHEDULE, available in the carousels in both clubhouses or on our website at www.lifelonglearningatpc.org.
Trips have filled quickly this season, but spaces are still available in the Wednesday, January 21 trip to Basha’s Art Gallery and a full day trip on Tuesday, March 10 to Florence, Arizona, including stops at the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, the Pinal County Historic Museum and Saint Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Monastery. The final trip of the season is always to a historic building in the valley with a gourmet meal to follow. This season we are going to the Wigwam for a tour, cooking demonstration and dinner on Sunday, April 19.
Be sure to register for any of the exciting classes beginning in January 2015. See the separate article in this PebbleCreek Post or review the information on the website, www.lifelonglearningatpc.org or in the printed SCHEDULE.
You can still join the Cinema Society of PebbleCreek at a prorated rate of $80 for the remaining movies.
