LifeLong Learning at PebbleCreek

Enjoy the arts with LLL

You talked, we listened.

After last year’s first trip to the Phoenix Opera we heard, “Can’t wait for next year’s trip!” and “Why don’t you have a trip to the ballet, too?”

So this coming season, in addition to the annual trip to the Phoenix Symphony LifeLong Learning is planning trips to the opera and the ballet. These are but three of 15 exciting trips planned. While registration for these trips and other LifeLong Learning programs doesn’t open until October 1, you may want to mark your calendar now!

Friday, January 20

We’ll be at the morning performance of A Night of Leonard Bernstein at the Phoenix Symphony featuring the symphonic dances of West Side Story and selections from his choral works.

Saturday, February 4

Enjoy an evening performance of Puccini’s greatest masterpiece, Madame Butterfly, at the Phoenix Opera. This memorable story of an innocent geisha’s love for an American naval officer will be sung in Italian with English subtitles.

Saturday, February 11

Watch the most famous love story of all time, Romeo and Juliet, danced by Ballet Arizona with music performed by the Phoenix Symphony at a matinee performance in Symphony Hall.

To complement these trips, classes will be offered in Opera Basics and Madam Butterfly and Introduction to Ballet and Romeo and Juliet.

It’s going to be a wonderful season. As always, the best way to learn what is planned is by subscribing to the LifeLong Learning enewsletter. Just send your name and email to [email protected]. The full program will be online at www.lifelonglearningatpc.org in September so you will be able to make your choices before registration opens online and in the new LifeLong Learning Center in Room 107 of the Eagle’s Nest Activity Center on October 1.

Cinema Society returns

The exciting world of film returns to PebbleCreek November 17 in the newly renovated Renaissance Theatre. This year all tickets will be sold in the Activities Office.
