Recently, members of the PebbleCreek French Group gathered at the home of Deborah and Gaylen Legan for one of their June meetings. Le Cercle Français hosted a special guest this month, Madame Marie-Thérèse Guignard, who is a relative of member Janine Drabier. She traveled all the way to Arizona from a small village in Switzerland. Her town, Romainmôtier, has only 450 inhabitants and is located in one of the French-speaking cantons of Switzerland. Other Swiss cantons speak German and Italian, so when traveling between cantons one can experience the feel of three different languages! Club members really enjoyed conversing with a native French speaker! Par for this fun group, conversation was paired with great French wine and appetizers!
Le Cercle Français is a casual social group which meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. unless otherwise arranged. Dedicated French conversation takes place between Canadian and French ex-pats and intermediate/advanced speakers for about two hours, giving the group plenty of time to maintain and improve their level of French each month. For more information, people can email Deborah Legan at [email protected].
