Luck of the Irish at Share Bears Bingo

Nicki Forbes-Robinson

Leprechauns, shamrocks, and lots of green decor decorated the bingo parlor in March. The game winners all received fun Irish hats with fringe. We meet Fridays for social time at 10:30 a.m. with games starting at 11 a.m. We serve refreshments in the Eagles Nest Ballroom and play 10 games with two optional games. So bring $3 in quarters and join us! For more information, call 949-289-5471.

Kare Bears April Events—Mark your Calendars

Kathy Koncel, Kare Bears Director, Health & Wellness

Kare Bears invites you to participate in the following events:

Hearing Screening

April 5, 7:50 to 11:30 a.m.,Tuscany Falls Palmero Room

Research has shown how important it is to be proactive in addressing any hearing declines over time. Hearing aid users wait, on average, 10 years before getting help for hearing loss. But during that time, communication with loved ones becomes more difficult, and isolation and health risks increase. Register for this screening on KareBears.org.

Hands Only CPR/AED Certification Training

April 19, 8:30 to 11:35 a.m., Eagle’s Nest, Palm Room

CPR saves lives—just not as many as it should. Recent studies suggest that less than half of those who suffer from cardiac arrest receive any type of CPR assistance from a bystander. When these types of situations arise, the common response is that no bystander was certified in CPR or that there was an aspect of fear involved, causing those around to hesitate in administering these critical skills. Not all emergency situations requiring CPR occur in a public forum. Almost 85% of all cardiac arrests take place in the home. Taking a CPR course will alleviate any fear you may have in administering proper CPR techniques should an emergency occur. Since this training provides certification, there is a cost of $35. To register, please go to KareBears.org.

Blood Drive

April 23, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Eagle’s Nest Palm Room

Why give blood? I bet you can think of a thousand things you would rather do. But think about this—you’re part of something bigger than yourself. The ultimate pay-it-forward moment—in order to move life forward—is the simple act of giving blood. You have a source of life within you that has the power to transform another life. Please register to donate at vitalant.org (Blood Drive Code: PebbleCreek) or call 877-258-4825.

Share Bears Bingo Celebrates Valentine’s Day and Birthdays

Bev Graham and Ann Goodale

We enjoyed cupcakes and celebrated milestone birthdays: Ann Goodale’s 80th and Hilda Fermin’s 70th. We decorated for Valentine’s Day and a lucky winner at each table took home the Valentine centerpiece donated by Debra and Rich Pozniak. Share Bears Bingo is in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. for social time, with the games starting at 11 a.m. It’s light-hearted competition and only a quarter a game. We play 10 games with an optional 11th, and it’s done by 12:15 p.m. For more information, call 949-289-5471. Come join us and bring your quarters!
