The PebbleCreek Italian American Club (PCIAC) calendar has kept its members busy this summer, and many are enjoying the opportunity to get together post-pandemic.
Resembling a night in a vineyard in Tuscany, 60 members of the PCIAC enjoyed An Evening Dinner in Italy on June 18. Shelly and David Carnevale, along with Pat and Ken Hacker, hosted the dinner and created the perfect setting. The Tuscany Ballroom was transformed for the festive event into a typical Italian restaurant scene, with music transporting the guests to a land they love to visit.
Rosemary Holmes and Suzanne Butler worked closely with the PebbleCreek Catering Department for this cultural dinner deeply rooted in an authentic family style food experience.
The “primo” course was an Italian salad served family style and the “secondo” course included pasta with freshly cooked seasonal vegetables served as the “contorno” or side dish. The dinner concluded with a selection of gelatos. Guests enjoyed a quick round of bingo with wine prizes before saying “arrivederci” to the evening.
Thirty members also gathered for a June 23 luncheon hosted by Carolyn and Ken Minichiello. Just a few days later, many members attended the June 25 summer picnic party at the Oasis Pool. The picnic was hosted by Judy Friedman, Sy Rosenthal, Cindy Zaklan, Bob Marchese, Kay Skripka, and Shelly and David Carnevale. Attendees enjoyed a raffle and bring-your-own dinner.
In July, members met for more fun during the monthly luncheon on July 23 hosted by Alice and Charlie Miller.
The club is kicking off its full calendar of events for the coming year with an Aug. 4 bowling party organized by Peggy and Frank Lemmo and Shelly and David Carnevale. Maggi and Ron Mass will host the monthly luncheon on Aug. 19.
Throughout 2021-22, members of the PCIAC will be treated to various cultural experiences during special events and meetings. The club will restart their meetings on Sept. 8. Meetings are held at the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom on the second Wednesday evening of each month at 7 p.m. More information about all activities is available at pciac.org.
