At our final PebbleCreek Italian American Club (PCIAC) general membership meeting before the summer break, attendees had the opportunity to hear about upcoming events and enjoy the live music of Two’s Company Folk Duo.
President Ken Minichiello began the meeting by spotlighting the contributions of three active club members. Everett Saverino was thanked and recognized for his seven years of outstanding service as PCIAC Treasurer. Next, Dino Cervigni was recognized for offering free Italian language classes and for sharing his extensive collection of classic Italian movies. Both Everett and Dino have generously donated their time and expertise for many years, and their contributions to our club will be greatly missed! Ken also thanked Donna Strand for her ongoing sponsorship of our after-hour socials. It takes a village!
After the brief business meeting, we were treated to the entertaining, often humorous, live performance of Jeff Harrison and Howard Brodbeck. The duo sang a variety of familiar folk music, while playing guitars, banjo, and harmonica. Both musicians possess strong individual vocal abilities, but their exceptional talent is their beautiful two-part harmonies. Performances included old favorites such as “Pack Up your Sorrows,” Red Rubber Ball,” “Don’t Think Twice,” “Summer Song,” “Where I’m Bound,” and “Whiskey In The Jar.” Thank you Jeff and Howard for an entertaining evening!
