Jeff Harrison, Dave Woodruff, and Gary Kotula

Another attendance record was broken at our Feb. 8 general membership meeting. One hundred and forty-one members attended, which smashed the previous attendance record set just last month. General club information was presented, and during the meeting, President Ken Minichiello made a special announcement: One of our long-standing members, Donna Strand, has offered to sponsor all of our club’s general membership meetings! Donna’s gift to our club is on behalf of her business, Realty ONE Group. She has assisted many of our members with their real estate needs, and we encourage members to consider using her services. Thank you so much, Donna!

After our short meeting, we were treated to a lively, often humorous, musical performance by The Arizona Trio. These talented musicians captivated us with their nostalgic folk songs, and their amazing ability to harmonize their individual voices to create a unique and extremely melodic three-part harmony. They performed works by The Kingston Trio, The New Christy Minstrels, Peter Paul and Mary, and several other popular folk groups. Their renditions of songs like “Ghost Riders in the Sky,” “Tumbling Tumbleweeds,” “In the Early Morning Rain,” and “Arizona Goin’ Home,” coupled with their ability to interject realistic sound effects such as galloping horses and bird calls, helped to transport us back in time to our more youthful days when these songs were popular.

The Arizona Trio have been together for the past decade and have performed at many music venues all over Arizona. Members are Gary Kotula and Jeff Harrison, both from PebbleCreek, and Dave Woodruff from Gilbert. Jeff has performed with The PebbleCreek Singers and in Showtime Productions. Gary has also appeared in Showtime Productions and is a highly regarded member of the PC Art Club.

Thank you Jeff, Dave, and Gary for a delightful, entertaining evening!
