On Oct. 25, the Tuscany Ballroom was filled with 72 smartly dressed members of the PebbleCreek Italian American Club (PCIAC) for the sold-out Anniversary Party to commemorate the club’s 22nd year in 2022. Party favors of Italian spices greeted each guest as they arrived at their tables. The theme, “A Walk Down Memory Lane,” was introduced by the event coordinator Shelly Carnevale. She entertained the members with her captivating club history including the many outstanding events and highlights through the years. An already cheerful night was made extra special by the attendance and recognition of two remarkable ladies, honored guests Vera Cappiello and Jane Biggs, both founders of the club. Longtime member and special guest Joan Suriano added to the celebration. The festivities continued as guest speaker and past president Keith Passafiume brought laughter to the room with his very humorous joke telling.
Guests were served a delectable meal including salad, breadsticks, mouthwatering Chicken Parmigiana, and scrumptious tiramisu that was enjoyed by all. Did you know tiramisu has a sordid past? One of the many fun facts learned at the event is that tiramisu was invented by a “maitresse” of a house of pleasure to offer to customers at the end of the evening to reinvigorate them before returning home to “perform” for their wives.
Thanks to Shelly and her committee members which included: Pat and Ken Hacker, Kay Skripka, Bob Marchese, Sally and Jay Ward, Carolyn and Ken Minichiello, and David Carnevale for all their time and work taking the members down memory lane to celebrate this amazing club.
