In November 2023, voters approved a bond to support Litchfield Elementary School District’s growing and shifting community through the building of a new school. This July, that vision becomes reality as Troy Gilbert Elementary School opens its doors to students in one of the fastest-growing areas of the West Valley.
Located at the corner of Glendale Avenue and Perryville Road in Waddell, Troy Gilbert Elementary represents more than a new school. It reflects a community’s investment in future generations and a commitment to ensuring students have access to high-quality educational opportunities close to home.
The school is named in honor of Major Troy Gilbert, a United States Air Force pilot who served at Luke Air Force Base and whose legacy of service, sacrifice, and leadership continues to inspire others. As the home of the Aviators, the school will encourage students to dream big, serve others, and strive for excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Funded through the 2023 voter-approved bond, Troy Gilbert Elementary was designed by DLR Group and constructed by CORE Construction to meet the community’s needs. The campus includes modern learning environments and collaborative spaces designed to support student learning for years to come.
