Aimee Yamamori
Jackie Meck, a Buckeye native, has served previously as “town” mayor from 1973 to 1975 and as a member of the town council from 1968 to 1975 and was re-elected in 2016 to his third four-year term as mayor.
Mayor Meck currently serves as past-chairman of the MAG Regional Council, past-chairman of the MAG Regional Council Executive Committee, chairman of the MAG Economic Development Committee, member of the MAG Transportation Policy Committee, member of the Gila River’s El Rio Restoration Project Executive Committee, treasurer for the Interstate-11 Coalition, co-chair of the White Tank Conservancy Trust, member of the Floodplain Use Permits For Sand And Gravel Stakeholder Review Committee, board of trustees for the Abrazo Health (West Valley Hospital). Mayor Meck has also served on the board of directors of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), WESTMARC, Valley Metro RPTA, is a past president of the Buckeye Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the retired general manager of the Buckeye Water Conservation and Drainage District.
Mayor Meck is a past chairman of the town’s Pioneer Days Celebration and is a member of the Buckeye Elks, Rotary of Verrado, Lions Club, Buckeye Valley Museum, West Valley Fine Arts, Phoenix Art Museum, and the Heard Museum.
Mayor Meck and his wife of 57 years, Verlyne, have three grown children and four grandchildren.
