On October 7, 2016 PCLGA member Cherrie Pierson had a hole-in-one on Hole No. 8 of the Palms. She was playing with her friends, Sue Frens, a recent permanent resident of PebbleCreek and PCLGA member Carol Taylor. As Cherrie put it, she didn’t feel she made the perfect swing with her rescue club, but thought she had hit the front of the green and had a long putt ahead of her. Carol thought she had seen the ball rolling back toward the pin. Again, Cherrie couldn’t see the ball and was convinced it was hiding in a swale on the green. Still not seeing the ball as she approached the green, she then thought it was probably in the trap on the right of the green. Low and behold, her orange Volvik ball was at the bottom of the cup. Surely, there were a few shrieks of joy that followed. According to Cherrie, she reported and entered her lucky shot immediately after golf in the Tuscany Golf Shop. Cherrie had one other hole-in-one several years ago while playing a team match in Denver, Colorado and, similarly, didn’t think she had hit the ball correctly and was surprised to find it in the hole. Golf is always full of surprises! Congratulations, Cherrie!
